It was a hard challenge when COVID-19 forced us to worship remotely back in late March of 2020, but it also pushed us to take a leap that ultimately enhanced our worship. Even when we returned to in person worship, we saw the value in continuing to also have our worship available as a Zoom meeting. This allow us to include shut-ins, people who have moved, those who have concern about spreading or being exposed to illness, or any others that are not able to make it to worship in the building. The meeting starts half an hour before worship officially start so that attendees can chat in fellowship before the microphones are muted at the start of the service. Most of the service shares video and audio from in the sanctuary, but at the appropriate times where there is congregational involvement the litanies, prayers, and hymns are shared to the screen so that all can read or sing along. Prayers and concerns can be typed into the chat to be read by the Zoom host or can be spoken directly at the appropriate time. Many thanks to the Zoom hosts and onsite helpers that make this ministry possible!
We have a wonderful opportunity for you to serve NUMC! We have an opening for a Zoom host for our Sunday services. NUMC will be continuing to offer Zoom access to Sunday services to those who are not comfortable with or not able to attend in person. This ministry has been very important to many members of our congregation and guests. It is a link to our church family and is in keeping with our traditions of outreach and caring for our neighbors. Being a host is easy and fun! It is only a once a month commitment and it comes with free training! We have a very detailed guide and there is typically someone at the Zoom worship service that is there to help as well. If you are interested please reach out via email to Vickie at vlhadge@yahoo.com
